Doctors Direct has great opportunities for a Junior Doctor with Psychiatry, Lambeth In Patient General Psyc in South London providing inpatient and outpatient mental health care and learning disability inpatient services.

A junior doctor in psychiatry, also known as a psychiatric trainee or psychiatric resident, plays a crucial role in the field of mental health care. Their job description includes various responsibilities:

  • Conducting interviews and assessments to evaluate patients' mental health conditions, including observing behaviors, collecting medical histories, and performing mental status examinations.
  • Providing direct patient care, monitoring progress, and making adjustments to treatment plans as necessary. This often involves working as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with psychologists, nurses, social workers, and other healthcare professionals.
  • Assisting in psychiatric emergency evaluations, managing crises, and providing acute care for patients in psychiatric distress.
  • Maintaining accurate and detailed medical records, documenting patient progress, and writing reports for supervising physicians or consultants.
  • Participating in educational programs, workshops, and seminars to further knowledge and skills in psychiatry. They may also be involved in teaching medical students and interns.

 

Details about the Role:

  • Specialty: Speciality doctor Psychiatry.
  • Locations: South London
  • Start date: ASAP-ongoing, no end date yet.
  • Days per week: Monday-Friday
  • Shift pattern: 9:00-17:00.
  • Pay rate: £50-£70 per hour (depending on experience).
  • Payment method: PAYE we do NOT facilitate payment through LTD/umbrella companies.

 

The minimum requirements for the role are:

  • Valid GMC.
  • Right to work in the UK.
  • Clinical attachment complete.
  • Minimum 3 months paid UK experience.
  • AC Status essential.
  • S12 desirable.
